French Director of TIEI
Since its inception in 1895, Tianjin University's mission is to enable the development and implementation of scientific principles in industrial technology for the development of Chinese society. The founding principles are based on the construction of the best skills, at the best international level and with a constant concern for the social benefit. This approach, which was totally innovative in 1895, is now characteristic of the engineering sector, which must try to meet the major challenges of the 21st century, such as industrial and agricultural production, energy production and consumption, transport , Communication networks while ensuring development compatible with the preservation of natural resources and the quality of the built environment. This challenge, unparalleled in the history of mankind, requires the training of engineers capable of understanding these issues and, above all, of imagining and designing innovative solutions that can provide relevant answers.
To produce these talents, Tianjin University decided to create a new training model with the Tianjin International Engineering Institute (TIEI), in partnership with Polytech Nice Sophia and according to French standards for the engineering degree. This school of engineers is based both on the long knowledge of the engineering profession which constitutes the DNA of the University of Tianjin and on the will to innovate in the formation with a close synergy between the companies and the sector of academic research. Tianjin has an exceptional economic environment that attracts and concentrates leading industrial players at the international level. In this unique context, all the ingredients for the development of innovation are gathered and the mission of the future engineers of TIEI is to bring forth new ideas. TIEI's ambition is to welcome the best international students who wish to invest in the challenges of today and build the world of tomorrow.
