　　Biography

　　Jianrong Wang was born in Qinghai, P. R. China, in 1976. He received his B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in Technology for Computer Applications in 1998, 2003 and 2009 from Tianjin University, respectively. Now, he is an associate professor of School of Computer Science and Technology. He has guided many students to participate in competitions and won the several national awards, such as ‘Freescale Cup National Undergraduates Intelligent Car Contest’, ‘Inter Cup Undergraduates Electronic Design Contest - Embedded System Design Invitational Contest’ and ‘Chinese Robot Contest - RoboCup Open Contest’. Also, he has guided a National Undergraduates Innovating Project and completed a Ministry of Education science and technology research key project.

　　Research Interests

　　Jianrong Wang’s research effort is focused on Human-Computer Interaction Techniques, pattern recognition and robotics. Particular areas include automatic speech recognition, audio-visual speech recognition, machine learning and high performance computing. He and his co-workers have developed noises robust automatic speech recognition system for Robot NAO through analyzing the characteristics and types of robot ego-noises. He and his co-workers have developed an audio-visual speech recognition system integrating 3D lip information to improve the recognition rate under noisy environment. He and his group also work on the developments of computational methods for singing/humming system based on multiple GPUs.
